#2. Something is going on with Jalen Hood-Schifino, and it’s starting to worry me

Playing in his lowest minutes since November 20 against Miami (Ohio), Jalen Hood-Schifino logged 25 minutes of game action and totaled two points on 1-for-6 shooting, three assists, and two rebounds against Michigan State.

Whether he was injured or just had an off-shooting night, it’s a rare sight to see him being punished for his play on the floor by Mike Woodson, a game where Woodson trusted Trey Galloway and Tamar Bates to handle the ball-handling and guard duties.

It was pretty clear that Hood-Schifino was off on his jump shot from his first shot attempt, but that hadn’t discouraged him in past games this season. He came up hobbled on one play and looked to be not as aggressive to the rim as we’ve seen over his last seven games.

A career-low scoring afternoon after nine straight double-digit scoring nights is something we are not accustomed to seeing from the five-star freshman. Hopefully, he rebounds in a big way against Minnesota as we need to take some sort of pressure off of the flourishing Trayce Jackson-Davis right now.
