#5. Race Thompson‘s surprise return went as expected

About one hour before tip-off, news broke that Race Thompson was dressed and warming up with a big knee brace on his right knee. Though he wasn’t inserted into the starting lineup, Thompson was officially ruled active and available to play against the Spartans on Sunday.

Returning from a four-game absence, Thompson played just four minutes and registered three personal fouls and a steal in his time on the floor. As expected, his minutes were limited, and though he looked a step slow, it was nice to see him out on the floor period as he was able to absorb fouls and minutes for the rest of the Indiana bigs in a very physical contest.

Look for Thompson’s minutes to increase against his hometown team of Minnesota on Wednesday, possibly pushing between 10-15 minutes in the game and hopefully looking to score a bit more.
