1. Terrence Shannon Jr. – Senior Guard – #0

2022-23 stats: 18 GP, 31.3 MIN, 17.6 PPG, 5.7 REB, 3.2 AST, 1.3 STL, 2.2 TOV

Here is the real focus for Coach Mike Woodson and the Indiana Hoosiers’ defense.

Terrence Shannon Jr. returned back home (Chicago, IL) to lead the Fighting Illini program and boy has he done so. Leading the team in scoring and steals, Shannon Jr. has filled the stat sheets this season with six 20-point performances, including a 29-point and eight three-pointer night against No. 8 UCLA back on November 18.

Without Shannon Jr., this Illini team is relatively clueless offensively. Although he struggled from the field in his last game (2-for-12 against Minnesota on 1/16), Shannon Jr. has the ability to get hot from anywhere on the court and the coaching staff needs to prepare for all things possible when he has the ball in his hands.

Shut down Shannon Jr. and you have a chance to walk out of Champaign with a huge Big Ten road win.
