Indiana basketball not receiving any votes in the Week 11 AP Top 25
Indiana basketball is not receiving any votes in the Week 11 AP Top 25 rankings after a bad showing against Penn State and a top 25 win against Wisconsin.
The fact that Indiana basketball is not receiving any votes to be in the AP Top 25 after beating No. 18 Wisconsin in a dominant showing is somewhat surprising. If anything, the Hoosiers should be using that as motivation.
One Big Ten team remains consistent as a ranked team in the AP Top 25, Purdue at No. 3, and the others are sitting on the outside looking in, besides one new addition to the polls. Rutgers now ranks at No. 23, their first showing in the AP polls this season.
As of this Week 10 poll, Indiana basketball holds a record of 1-3 (.250) overall against top 25 opponents, with their three losses coming to No. 2 Kansas on the road, No. 11 Arizona in Las Vegas, and No. 23 Rutgers in New Jersey, and their lone win coming at No. 8 Xavier back on November 18.
The Hoosiers’ win against Xavier at the Cintas Center is aging very well, as the Musketeers have won 11 straight games, including wins over West Virginia, No. 2 UConn, Creighton, and No. 25 Marquette all at home.
Holding steady at 11-6 overall and 2-4 in the Big Ten, the Hoosiers have a shot this week to get back to .500 in conference play, and possibly get themselves back in the top 25 if the success continues from Saturday’s performance.
Can Indiana basketball possibly go 2-0 this week or is the best-case scenario 1-1 with a road game against Illinois and a home game against Michigan State? The Fighting Illini have won four straight games and the Spartans have now lost two straight games since winning seven straight.
