Moment #5: March 12, 2022 – Trayce Jackson-Davis nearly leads Indiana to the Big Ten Championship with a 31-point performance against Iowa
Trayce Jackson-Davis dominated nearly every minute of the game against Iowa in the Big Ten semifinal, finishing the game with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks on an unreal shooting night, 15-for-21 from the field.
Although the Hoosiers were leading most of the game and seemed in control against Iowa from the tip, the Hawkeyes shooting from beyond the arc was too much to handle for Indiana. Tied at 77-77 with 30 seconds remaining, the Hoosiers played great defense for 29 seconds and a heave from Jordan Bohannon happened to bank in to end Indiana’s chance to get to the Big Ten title game.
Yes, the game ended in sadness for Hoosier Nation, but it helped secure the Hoosiers’ first NCAA Tournament at-large bid since 2016, along with proving the talent that Jackson-Davis has to lead Indiana to serious success in 2022-23.
