#5. Malik Reneau & Jordan Geronimo needs to find their footing in the rotation

Freshman forward, Malik Reneau, and sophomore forward, Jordan Geronimo, combined for 12 points on 3-for-8 shooting from the field and 6-for-10 from the free throw line, along with five total rebounds and five turnovers in a combined 28 minutes played.

To be honest, it doesn’t make sense to me that Malik Reneau played just 15 minutes in a game where he needed to find his footing and rhythm, especially before conference play starts back up in 2023. Yes, his four turnovers alone were pretty poor, but it’s expected of a freshman forward who is replacing the production of the Preseason Big Ten Player of the Year, Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Geronimo was quite aggressive, which we haven’t quite seen from him this year, getting to the free throw line eight times in his 13 minutes off the bench, and he showed a bit more energy which has been lacking from him and the Hoosiers basically since the beginning of December.
