#4. Tamar “Scoop” Bates has finally found his rhythm, which is a game-changer for Indiana

People will continue to forget that Tamar Bates can easily be the primary scorer on this team if it weren’t for Trayce Jackson-Davis. Bates, right there with Miller Kopp, is the Hoosiers’ best three-point shooter on the team and has continued to find his rhythm in his sophomore campaign.

On Wednesday against Nebraska, Bates came off the bench and poured in a career-high four three-pointers and 19 points in 24 minutes. In two games against Jackson State and Nebraska, Bates has totaled 41 points (20.5 PPG) on 9-for-14 (64.3 percent) shooting from three-point range in 48 minutes (24.0 MPG).

In the other seven games that Scoop has appeared in, he has totaled 29 points (4.1 PPG) on 4-for-17 (23.5 percent) shooting from beyond the arc in 136 minutes (19.4 MPG). It’s time for more consistency, but Tamar is showing flashes of what he’s capable on a nightly basis.
