Trayce Jackson-Davis notched the third triple-double in Indiana basketball history on Wednesday night, helping the Hoosiers defeat Nebraska, 81-65.

On Wednesday in Bloomington, the Hoosiers came into the game after losing their first game of the season, a 63-48 road loss against Rutgers on Saturday. The Cornhuskers came into Wednesday’s matchup coming off their best win in quite some time, taking down No. 7 Creighton 63-53 on Sunday.

Watching this game, you can tell which team had the urgency and desire to pull out a big conference win, and it was your hometown Hoosiers.

The offense exploded on Wednesday evening at Assembly Hall, with Indiana basketball knocking down 11 three-pointers on 44.0 percent, along with holding Nebraska to just 26.1 percent from deep. It wasn’t perfect, but it’s exactly what the doctor ordered heading into Saturday’s showdown with No. 10 Arizona.

Here are my six takeaways from the Hoosiers’ huge bounce-back win over Nebraska:

#6. Miller Kopp has slowly turned himself into more than just a shooter, and it’s come up huge for the Hoosiers

Miller Kopp, the graduate senior sharpshooter, had himself a solid night at Assembly Hall, recording 13 points on 6-for-11 shooting, 1-for-5 from beyond the arc, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 34 minutes.

Over the past two games, Kopp has totaled 34 points on 14-for-23 shooting (60.9 percent) and 6-for-14 (42.9 percent) from beyond the arc, to go along with seven rebounds, and just one turnover in 69 minutes played.

Kopp’s ability to do more than just shoot the ball from beyond the three-point line has come up huge, and it’s very unexpected. I really believed that Kopp could turn into a very important 3-and-D guy for the Hoosiers, but he’s bringing more to the table, which has been very necessary in the absence of Jalen Hood-Schifino.
