No. 10 Indiana basketball took down the 2022 national title runner-ups, No. 18 North Carolina, on Wednesday and Trey Galloway shined above the rest of the Hoosiers.

Stat line vs. No. 18 North Carolina: 23 MIN | 11 PTS | 3 REB | 2 AST | 5/7 FG | 1 STL | 1 PF | 0 TOV

From the moment Galloway stepped on the floor, he brought the fire and energy that pushed the Hoosiers over the edge. He was hounding the talented backcourt of the Tar Heels and forced many turnovers, even though it doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.

The craziest part of Galloway showing up for the game and showing out is the fact that he’s coming back from a two-game absence, and according to Coach Woodson, he hadn’t even practiced over a 10-day span:

"“I thought Galloway tonight was phenomenal, man, the way he played based on the fact that he hadn’t practiced in the last 10, 11 days. It was nice to have him back.”"

Must Read. Galloway was the difference maker the Hoosiers needed. light

For guys like Galloway, Jordan Geronimo, and others on the Indiana basketball roster, what they bring of value to games does not always show in the box score. Galloway’s run in the first half from the 4-minute mark to the 3-minute mark resulted in two Tar Heel turnovers and two easy fast-break buckets for the sophomore guard from Culver, Indiana.

Just to throw some more statistics your way, Trey Galloway had the highest plus/minus of any player off the bench from both teams in this game at +6 and contributed plenty to the Hoosiers’ sixth game this season shooting 50.0 percent or better from the field.
