2. Caleb Love – Junior Guard – #2

2022-23 stats: 7 GP, 38.7 MIN, 20.0 PPG, 3.4 AST, 1.7 STL, 2.4 TOV, 41.8 FG%, 24.5 3P%

In his last game, Caleb Love put up 34 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 58 minutes of playing time. Now if we just looked at that stat line without the rest of the information, that’s one heck of a game for a junior guard.

The side you didn’t see in that stat line is that Love shot 13-for-36 (36.1 percent) from the field and 3-for-11 (27.3 percent) from beyond the arc, along with four turnovers. That’s a whole lot of shot attempts for the points scored.

Love has the ability to go off at any moment. In last season’s Final Four matchup with 2-seeded Duke, Love recorded 28 points in 40 minutes and led the Tar Heels to the championship game. In the championship game, Love managed just 13 points on 5-for-24 shooting, which ultimately led to the loss for UNC. It’s a major give-and-take for Love and his shooting performance, which should give Hoosier Nation some nerves as he comes into Assembly Hall this Wednesday night.
