#1. Race Thompson stepped up and delivered for the Hoosiers when they needed him most

Without Trayce Jackson-Davis, who has been leading this Indiana basketball team this season, Race Thompson was thrust into the primary offensive big man role alongside freshman, Malik Reneau.

Prior to Wednesday’s game, Thompson has totaled 22 points in five games (4.4 PPG) this season on 9-for-25 (36.0 percent) shooting. In this game against Little Rock, Race dominated with 20 points on 7-for-8 (87.5 percent) shooting and eight rebounds in a season-high 30 minutes.

The Hoosiers are 8-3 (.727) when Thompson scores 15 or more points in his career, but luckily for Indiana, they have won 12 of their last 16 games when Thompson doesn’t score at least 10 points. It’s more than just stats for Thompson, his impact on the game is much more than what you see from the box score.
