Indiana basketball: Six takeaways from dominant win in Indianapolis
#1. Trayce Jackson-Davis notched his first double-double of the season… in the first half
Now, that’s how you cap off an unreal performance on Friday night.
Many might have thought of this trap game as a game where TJD might not show up and take it easy. That was not the case at all.
Jackson-Davis had 13 points and 10 rebounds in the first half, notching his first double-double of the season, and ended the game with 17 points and 16 rebounds on 6-for-8 shooting.
Through his first four games this season, Jackson-Davis is shooting 75.6 percent from the field. Of players that have played at least 100 minutes this season, Jackson-Davis ranks third among major conference players in field goal percentage thus far, with only Ryan Kalkbrenner (Creighton) and Julian Reese (Maryland) logging a higher percentage from the field.
Hopefully, Jackson-Davis can get some rest and play limited minutes against Arkansas-Little Rock and Jackson State before having to face off against Armando Bacot and the No. 1 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels on November 30.
