#4. CJ Gunn earned a spot in the rotation with his play on Sunday

Prior to Sunday’s game, Gunn had not played in the first half of any game this season. This game, he was the fourth guy off the bench for Mike Woodson and made an impact immediately on the defensive end.

Gunn registered a career-high 5 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in 18 minutes of action and was 1-for-4 from beyond the arc. His shot was definitely off, having not played in a game in 10 days, but his importance showed on the defensive end, as he managed a steal and a block pretty quickly in the game.

Gunn was getting time because of the injury to Trey Galloway’s knee that he suffered against Xavier on Friday. Hopefully, that’s not a significant injury, nevertheless, Woodson has a guy that can do positive things on the floor and not hurt you as a freshman. That’s huge.

If Miller Kopp gets cold from deep or isn’t make strong plays for Indiana, there is no reason CJ Gunn shouldn’t be on the floor getting minutes for the Hoosiers.
