2021-22 stats: 30 GP, 28.4 MIN, 13.6 PPG, 4.4 REB, 2.8 AST, 1.2 STL

On Monday night, Marcus Garrett recorded 13 points on a 6-for-15 shooting night against the Hawkeyes. The Wildcats as a team struggled shooting overall, so that night for Garrett was actually one of the better shooting performances of anyone on the team.

In his first season with the Wildcats, Garrett notched seven 20-point games and shot 75 free throws in those seven games. This kid knows how to score and how to get to the free throw if need be. Of those 75 attempts, he made just 53 (70.7 percent), but that could be dangerous against a team with bigs that are still learning how to play defense without fouling.

Garrett isn’t much of a three-point shooter, only making 14 threes in his three seasons, but you never know with opponents shooting percentage always skyrocketing when playing the Hoosiers in Assembly Hall. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Jalen Hood-Schifino take on the challenge of guarding the Eagles second-best scoring guard and shutting him down tonight.
