#1. Jalen Hood-Schifino is the best playmaker Indiana basketball has had in quite some time

Looking at his stat line: 27 MIN 7 PTS, 2 REB, 4 AST, 2 TOV, 1 STL, 3/4 FG, 1/4 FT

That’s not all that impressive. It’s more the presence and calmness that Jalen Hood-Schifino plays with that makes me so excited about this five-star freshman running the Indiana offense. He has this demeanor to him that says, “I know exactly what I’m doing. I’m going at my own pace and nobody can speed me up”.

Indiana basketball has not had a point guard that can confidently and patiently bring the ball up the floor against pressure defense since Yogi Ferrell. That’s not an overreaction.

The only problem I had with Hood-Schifino’s game on Monday was the fact that he only took four shots. If he’s going to be our second-best offensive player, we need him to take nearly 10 shots per game, if not more. His pull-up jumpers and confidence in taking the ball to the rim is something that will be a game-changer for the Hoosiers this season.
