Indiana basketball starts the 2022-23 season tonight against the Morehead State Eagles and it’s not that easy to find the game on cable television tonight.

The Hoosiers are returning four of their five starters from 2021-22, with their star, Trayce Jackson-Davis leading the way. With multiple preseason honors and watch lists, Jackson-Davis is looking to make a strong showing in the first game of his final collegiate season.

Tagging along with Jackson-Davis this season is his frontcourt running mate, Race Thompson, and two more seniors in the starting lineup, Xavier Johnson and Miller Kopp. The experience is running through the veins of the Hoosiers after clinching their first NCAA Tournament berth in what seemed like forever last season. Now they’re hungry for more.

Though that might seem like enough, it isn’t. Mike Woodson brought in the 11th-best recruiting class in the nation for this upcoming season, with five-star freshman Jalen Hood-Schifino earning a starting spot and his high school teammate, Malik Reneau, earning a big spot in the rotation behind Jackson-Davis.

Yes, unfortunately, if you want to watch the Hoosiers play on opening night, you have to pay $10 for a monthly subscription to Big Ten Plus. Don’t blame me, blame the Big Ten. After this game, every Indiana basketball game will be on Big Ten Network or a nationally televised program (ESPN, CBS, FOX, etc.)
