No. 13 Indiana basketball vs. Morehead State best bet: Over 137.5 points
My best bet for this season-opening matchup for the Hoosiers against Morehead State would be taking both teams to combine for over 137.5 points.
A $100 bet on over 137.5 points would potentially bring home a profit of $89.29. While that’s not a huge bargain, it is worth something to bet on the Hoosiers tonight as we begin a very exciting season for Indiana basketball.
Betting over 137.5 points is very simple in my mind. Indiana has scored 85 or more points in their season-opener in three of the last four matchups. Last season, the Hoosiers combined with their opponents totaled 140 or more points in four of 12 non-conference games, but the offensive firepower behind Trayce Jackson-Davis is far greater than it was last season.
Based on my prediction for this game, the Hoosiers will battle with Morehead State but pull away at the end and win 83-67. That final score would add up to 150 combined points between the two teams. Easy money.
If I really believed the Hoosiers could blow out the Eagles by 25 or more points, I would hop on that train no doubt. In 2021-22, Indiana opened the season against Eastern Michigan and won that game by just six points. In 2020-21, the Hoosiers started the season against Tennessee Tech and won by 30 points. Morehead State is somewhere in between those two, which makes me believe Indiana can’t cover 24.5 points in this first game.
The first Indiana basketball game to bet on this season comes at a great time, especially with how the Indiana football program has been performing. Time for some positivity in Bloomington starting tonight!
