#4. Coach Mike Woodson has one of the deepest teams in the Big Ten
In the two exhibition games for the Hoosiers this preseason, the team had 12 of their 13 scholarship players score. Realistically, Coach Woodson has 10 or 11 guys that can play consistently if needed in Division I matchups.
In the second exhibition game against Saint Francis (IN), two of the Hoosiers starters (Trayce Jackson-Davis and Jalen Hood-Schifino) scored in double digits, while three bench guys (Malik Reneau, Tamar Bates, and Jordan Geronimo) scored in double digits. Seven Indiana basketball players scored eight points or more in this game and four different players made a three-pointer.
The bench unit consisting of Tamar Bates, Malik Reneau, Jordan Geronimo, Trey Galloway, and CJ Gunn will be dangerous. These five guys could be the starting five for any non-power conference team in the country.
The keys to winning and succeeding this year will be riding on the shoulders of Jackson-Davis and Hood-Schifino, but this deep team has 10 guys that can impact the game at a high level, which will separate them from most teams in the Big Ten, and in all of college basketball.
