Indiana basketball: Jordan Geronimo is the battery that powers IU
With five days until the beginning of the 2022-23 season, we continue the Indiana basketball roster countdown with sophomore forward, Jordan Geronimo. Geronimo will be the battery that powers the Hoosiers in the upcoming season.

In the exhibition game on October 29, the 6-foot-6 forward came into the game and brought energy to the Hoosiers. As the first guy off the bench for Woodson, Geronimo played just 15 minutes and recorded six points, four rebounds, and made one-of-two from three-point range. In these “preseason games”, don’t expect much from Geronimo, as Woodson will likely give more opportunity to the guys that won’t be playing as much during the regular season.
Last season, Jordan Geronimo proved that he belongs on the court for Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers as he had four games off the bench with at least 10 points, including one of the more important games in recent history for Indiana basketball.
In the First Four matchup against Wyoming, Geronimo provided 15 points and seven rebounds off the bench in just 19 minutes of game action. Besides Trayce Jackson-Davis, Geronimo was easily the most impactful Hoosier on the court.
Although he made just nine threes last season, look for Geronimo to feel a little freer to let those go from beyond the arc and near 20 made threes this season off the bench for Woodson. Geronimo and Tamar Bates will be two of the most important players for Indiana basketball this season, and over the next two seasons as they will likely move into the starting lineup with the departures of Jackson-Davis, Race Thompson, Xavier Johnson, and Miller Kopp.
