#2. Malik Reneau could be the future of Indiana basketball for the next couple of years

Coming into this season, I was worried about the playing time that a guy like Malik Reneau would get due to Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson returning for their final seasons. Reneau stacks up pretty perfectly size-wise with both guys but will not find himself in the starting lineup enough, just because of who is ahead of him.

On almost every other Big Ten team besides Michigan, Reneau is a starting forward. In this exhibition matchup, Reneau led the Hoosiers with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and a block in 18 minutes of action. As a starter, he showed his ability to score the ball at will against this undersized NAIA team, going 7 for 10 from the field.

The only question mark I have about Reneau is the opportunity he will be getting with his high school teammate, Jalen Hood-Schifino. They worked perfectly together in the pick-and-roll game and have a connection that you rarely see in the college game. Reneau will be playing back up to Jackson-Davis this season, but this guy is going to be the future of this Indiana basketball program.
