#3. If Race Thompson is spreading the floor with his three-point shot, watch out

This had to be one of the more exciting things to take away from this game. Race Thompson played 23 minutes and recorded 13 points, six rebounds, and two blocks, while 3 for 3 from three-point range. Yes, you read that correctly.

Thompson made the first three-pointer of the season for the Hoosiers and had a smoothness and confidence about his shot that we haven’t seen in his five seasons in Bloomington.

It’s obvious that Mike Woodson is imploring his big men to shoot the ball when open and Thompson has taken full advantage of that.

Along with spreading the floor offensively, Thompson was also very active on the defensive side of the ball, where the Hoosiers were very stout and seemingly switching all five players with Thompson, Duncomb, Galloway, Johnson, and Gunn out on the floor.

Adding Trayce Jackson-Davis to this mix with Race Thompson, Indiana basketball will have two of the most dominant big men on both sides of the ball for this 2022-23 season.
