Big Ten Power Rankings: Indiana football drops again after Week 8
Last game: 45-17 loss @ #16 Penn State
Next game: Oct. 29 vs. Rutgers
Now that loss to Penn State was embarrassing. Even with Mohamed Ibrahim totaling 102 yards on 30 carries and a touchdown, the Gophers had nothing going offensively and could not hang with Sean Clifford and the Nittany Lions. Minnesota’s defense allowed 300+ passing yards for the first time this season and the first time since October 2021 against Purdue.
After that embarrassment over the weekend, Minnesota needs to reset with a dominant win over Rutgers this upcoming weekend, a statement road win against Nebraska in Week 10, and close out the season undefeated the rest of the way for them to get a good quality bowl game. The Golden Gophers are 2-0 against the Scarlet Knights in their all-time series, winning by an average margin of 18.5 points per game, including a 35-point win in 2019.
