Last game: 43-37 loss @ Purdue
Next game: Oct. 29 vs. #17 Illinois

One week removed from a high-scoring affair against Purdue on October 15, Nebraska is coming off a bye week after losing their fourth game of the season. Trey Palmer had the game of his life with seven receptions for 237 yards and two touchdowns. Of course, Palmer couldn’t have as good of a game as he did without the arm talent of Casey Thompson, who had 354 passing yards and two touchdowns. The two transfers are the biggest threats on this Huskers’ offense heading into Week 9.

Last season, Nebraska has lost two straight games to Illinois for the first time since 1924, snapping their four-game winning streak against the Fighting Illini. Illinois has averaged 36.0 points per game against the Huskers over the last four matchups. Nebraska hasn’t taken on Illinois when they were ranked in the AP Top 25 since 1985 (Huskers won that game, 52-25).
