Last game: 41-17 win vs. #10 Penn State
Next game: Oct. 29 vs. Michigan State

A bye week last weekend gave the Wolverines an opportunity to rest their star running back and reset as they focus on the back end of the 2022 season, starting with their rivals, Michigan State. Michigan has lost three of the last four matchups against the Spartans in Ann Arbor and has only beaten Michigan State four times since 2008.

Last season, both teams came into the game undefeated, where the Spartans pulled out a 37-33 victory. Blake Corum had just 13 carries for 45 yards as a backup behind Hassan Haskins and the Michigan offense was mostly carried by Cade McNamara.

Things have definitely changed since then. McNamara is now back up to current starting QB, J.J. McCarthy, and Blake Corum ranks top five in all of college football in rushing yards (901), rushing touchdowns (13), yards from scrimmage (936), touchdowns from scrimmage (13), and points scored (78). Look for the Wolverines to dominate the Spartans in Week 8.
