We have now hit 17 days remaining until the Indiana basketball season tips off against Morehead State and we want to introduce Hoosier Nation to the roster. Starting us off is freshman guard, Shaan Burke.

Shaan Burke | 6’5″ 195lbs | Freshman Guard

Burke did not appear in any games as a freshman in Bloomington. Due to COVID, Burke is still considered a freshman with his eligibility. The freshman guard’s responsibility this season will be attempting to hound and pressure Xavier Johnson and Jalen Hood-Schifino in practices in order to keep the Hoosiers fresh as they head into this exciting season.

In high school, Burke was a star at Vista High School in California, and in two seasons with Varsity, Burke averaged 14.6 points and 5.7 assists and led his team in three-point shooting as a senior. The California kid played AAU basketball for Gamepoint and had plenty of games proving that he could make an impact on a Division II or Division III roster.

Burke is currently studying Finance at the Kelley School of Business. The guard showed his personality a bit in this year’s Hoosier Hysteria, as he walked out to ‘Mr. Blue Skies’ by ELO, a song from 1977.

The walk-on guard has an opportunity to make an impact for Indiana basketball in practice and that’s exactly what Mike Woodson should expect from him.

Projected 2022-23 stats: 1 GP, 0 GS, 2 total minutes played, 3 total points, 1 3PM, 100.0% 3P%
