Indiana football has now lost four straight games in a season for the second consecutive season, putting Tom Allen and the Hoosiers in a tough spot as they now focus on Rutgers.

Last season, the Hoosiers were embarrassed at home against the Scarlet Knights, getting blown out 38-3. It was the first loss Indiana suffered against Rutgers since 2015, snapping their five-game winning streak in the matchup. Before 2021, Indiana football averaged 35.0 points per game against the Scarlet Knights.

I’ll ask the same question I asked last week: Will Tom Allen’s football program win another game this season? Still losing hope after Week 7 and heading into a Week 8 matchup against a bad Rutgers football team.

The redshirt sophomore was supposedly behind both Connor Bazelak and Jack Tuttle as the third string quarterback on the depth chart. After Week 7, Jack Tuttle made the surprising move to enter the transfer portal as a graduate senior, even though the potential opportunity for playing time could be on the horizon for the backup quarterbacks.

Williams II is a former three-star from Georgia who showed out at Mount de Sales Academy, earning himself an All-State selection in high school, became a two-time Region 7A Offensive Player of the Year, and the Macon Telegraph Middle Georgia Player of the Year as a senior. With the struggle bus continuing for Bazelak and the Indiana football offense, don’t be surprised if Williams II finally sees some game action after sitting out all of 2021.
