Iowa quarterback Spencer Petras (7) gets set under center Logan Jones (65) as offensive lineman Nick DeJong (56) lines up during a NCAA Big Ten Conference football game against Michigan, Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa. /

Last game: 9-6 loss @ Illinois
Next game: Oct. 22 @ #2 Ohio State

The Hawkeyes had a bye week last week and watched Big Ten teams beat up on each other while they rested. Iowa has lost three of their first six games of the season for the first time since 2008, where the Hawkeyes finished that season 9-4 and won the Outback Bowl against South Carolina.

This year might be a different story for the Hawkeyes, as they now come out of the bye week and play the best team in the country on the road in Columbus. The last time these two teams matched up, Iowa took down the #3-ranked Buckeyes at home in 2017, 55-24, their biggest margin of victory against Ohio State all-time. When Ohio State is ranked in the top five, the Hawkeyes are 3-14 (.176).
