Indiana basketball career stats: 20.6 PPG, 41.6 FG%, 83.5 FT%, 68 GP

Jimmy Rayl was awarded All-Big Ten first team honors in 1961-62 and 1962-63 and averaged 27.5 points in those two seasons. Rayl is one of the best scorers in Indiana basketball history and has two of the top 10 scoring seasons in Hoosier history, averaging 29.8 points in 1961-62 (2nd all-time) and 25.3 points in 1962-63 (6th all-time).

Rayl ranks 23rd on the all-time scoring list (1,401 points) in Indiana basketball history, and is tied for the fifth fastest player to reach 1,000+ points scored in IU history in just 54 games (tied with Mike Woodson).
