Big Ten Power Rankings: Indiana football stays put after Week 6
Last game: 9-6 loss @ Illinois
Next game: Oct. 22 @ #2 Ohio State
Iowa held the Illinois offense to just three field goals made and nine total points and still lost. It doesn’t get much worse for the Hawkeyes. Iowa even won the turnover battle and forced three turnovers from the Fighting Illini and couldn’t turn anything into points. Spencer Petras registered a stat line of 18-for-36 (50.0 percent) for 170 yards and an interception, while Kaleb Johnson could only manage 26 rushing yards on nine carries. Nothing was working for this offense.
After a week off in Week 7, the Hawkeyes will have essentially two weeks to prepare for one of the best teams in the country at #2 Ohio State, as they travel to Columbus on October 22. Still one of the best defensive groups in the nation, Iowa has no chance to actually slow down C.J. Stroud and the Buckeyes in Week 8.
