The Wolverines travel to Bloomington in Week 6 and Indiana football has to key in on three players to slow down #4 Michigan on homecoming weekend.

Michigan football has a lot of talent on the team, and with the expectation that they will be competing for a Big Ten title this season and hoping for a chance to play in the College Football Playoff, many of these players and others will be stepping up week in and week out.

2022 stats: 10 total tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks

Last weekend against Iowa, senior linebacker, Mike Morris, totaled two tackles for loss and two sacks, along with two QB hurries. Morris was in the backfield seemingly every play against the Hawkeyes, and with the Hoosiers struggling with their offensive line, Indiana football needs to focus on #90 on the defense to be able to keep a clean pocket for Connor Bazelak and give running lanes for the running back room.

Morris has tied for the fourth most tackles for loss in the Big Ten and tied for the second most sacks in the Big Ten. Most of his tackles account for a tackle for loss or sack this season, only totaling 1.0 TFL and 0.5 sacks last season as a sophomore in Ann Arbor. Expect Morris to be in the backfield or putting pressure on Bazelak all game; it’s just a matter of figuring out how to run away from him and pass quick enough before he gets to the QB.
