1. Casey Thompson – #11 – QB

2022 stats: 76/117 (65.0 pct), 995 passing yards, 5 passing TD’s, 4 rushing TD’s

In Nebraska’s only win of the season, Casey Thompson threw for just 193 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception against North Dakota. In the Huskers’ three losses this season, Thompson has averaged 267.3 passing yards, 1.0 touchdown passes, and 1.3 touchdown runs. Now Thompson is a capable dual-threat quarterback, but he is much better than his stats make out to be.

As a junior at Texas last season, his two highlight-reel games came against Oklahoma in Week 6 and Kansas in Week 10. In the loss against the #6 ranked Sooners, Thompson threw for 388 passing yards and five touchdowns. To further prove the point, in the Longhorns loss to Kansas in Week 10, Thompson had 358 passing yards, six touchdown throws, and one rushing touchdown.

This kid can go off at any moment if he has the right guys around him making plays. Indiana football needs to limit Thompson’s arm as much as possible for the Hoosiers offense to be able to get ahead.
