Michigan running back Blake Corum (2). /

Last game: 34-27 win vs. Maryland
Next game: Oct. 1 @ Iowa

Blake Corum is out of this world. The junior running back finished his last game against Minnesota with 243 rushing yards on 30 carries and two touchdown runs. Corum ranks in the top 15 in total rushing yards (478), rushing yards per attempt (7.5), and ranks first in the nation in rushing touchdowns (9) this season, all while only registering 64 total carries.

Adding to that, J.J. McCarthy looked comfortable and pretty good against Maryland’s defense. Now the test starts against one of the best defenses in the nation, Iowa. Can McCarthy step up if Corum doesn’t have the running lanes he typically gets? This will be a primetime defensive showdown, unless Corum finds some magic.
