Indiana football wide receiver Cam Camper (6) extends to catch a pass in the third quarter of a college football game against the Cincinnati Bearcats, Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati. /

#1. Cam Camper – WR

Week 4 stats: 10 receptions, 126 receiving yards

The clear standout from the Hoosiers in this game, Cam Camper was the star of the game and the favorite target of Connor Bazelak, especially once D.J. Matthews Jr. went down early in the contest. Camper, I believe, would have finished with more receptions and more yardage if he hadn’t gotten hurt in the third and fourth quarters from all of the routes he was running and hits he was taking off of those routes and attempted receptions.

The junior college transfer has some talent and Indiana football is lucky to have a guy of his caliber on the outside. The running backs in the Hoosiers’ backfield really couldn’t get going at all against a tough Bearcats’ front, so it was all Bazelak and Camper in this game. Don’t be surprised if we see Camper finish with the most receptions in a single season by an Indiana football player and the most receiving yards in a single season since Ernie Jones had 1,265 in 1987.
