Week 3 stats vs. WKU: 13 total tackles, 7 solo tackles, 1 tackle for loss

The leadership of Cam Jones is the difference between a win and a loss for Indiana football in every game this season, thus far. With a game and career-high 13 total tackles and a career-best seven solo tackles, Jones continues to improve his draft stock and establish himself as the dominant part of this Hoosiers’ defense.

Jones has the second most total tackles (32) and third most assisted tackles (17) of all players in the Big Ten. In his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons, Jones had no more than 35 total tackles in any of those single seasons, and already has 32 this season. As of right now, Jones is on pace to record 120+ total tackles this season, which would be the most tackles in a single season by a Hoosier since Tegray Scales had 125 total tackles in 2016.

Jones is going to need to make his presence known against the Bearcats on September 24, and without him making big plays and leading the defensive crew, Indiana football has no chance to win.
