After a dramatic win over Illinois in the opening game of 2022, Indiana football follows up with a matchup against FCS opponent, Idaho, on Saturday, September 10. While it’s expected that the Hoosiers will have no problem handling the Vandals on Saturday night in Bloomington. In their matchup in 2021, Indiana football dominated from kickoff, winning 56-14, including leading 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Indiana football vs. Idaho prediction

With the Hoosiers facing off against an FCS opponent, betting lines from most major betting services have not released betting lines for Indiana football against Idaho for Saturday night. In last season’s matchup, IU was favored by 31.5 points over the Vandals and ended up winning by 42. Whatever the line is, I would expect the Hoosiers to cover, and likely outscore the over.

With the defense stepping up in its Week 1 game against Illinois, expect Idaho to struggle to score, and likely score a touchdown late against the second string defensive unit. With a blowout on the arise, Indiana football starters can come out with some confidence and finish the job in the first half.

My bold predictions for this Week 2 matchup line up with Connor Bazelak and Shaun Shivers to dominate this game from the jump and should no Hoosier Nation can expect both Bazelak and Shivers to finish this game with two touchdowns each, with likely Henderson and maybe, true freshman, Jaylin Lucas, getting a chance to make plays.

Without their best offensive lineman, Matthew Bedford, out for the season, keep an eye on the Indiana football offensive line to protect Bazelak and create running holes for Shivers and company. Idaho is not a good barometer for how the offensive line adjusts, but it’s good in-between game for the Hoosiers to figure things out before facing Western Kentucky in Week 3.
