Tiawan Mullen returning after getting injured in 2021 adds fuel to the fire for Indiana football and it seems to be paying off for the defensive back that has been named to the Bednarik Award Watch List for 2022, which is awarded to the best defensive player in college football, and being named as one of seven Hoosiers to the Senior Bowl Watch List for 2022, which is an all-star game put on to showcase the best senior college football players for the season.

In 2019, Mullen had his best season as a Hoosier, finishing with a Big Ten-best 13 passes defended, and if he’s able to replicate something close to what he was able to accomplish in his freshman campaign, the DB should anticipate to hear his name called in the 2023 NFL Draft. If Mullen comes out in Week 1, looks healthy, and makes plays for Tom Allen’s defense, high hopes to return to the defense that IU was in 2020 should be expected by Hoosier Nation.
