Kentucky forward Oscar Tshiebwe (34) flexes after scoring over Kansas /

The 2021-22 Naismith Player of the Year shocked Big Blue Nation and the rest of college basketball with his return for his senior season to dominate the boards and rebound Kentucky from its horrid loss to 15-seeded Saint Peter’s in the tournament last season. Tshiebwe finished the season averaging the most rebounds (15.1) by any player since 1996-97.

With Tshiebwe notching 11 20-point double doubles and five games with 20+ rebounds, he rightfully earned his Naismith Player of the Year award and became the first Wildcats’ big man to earn SEC Player of the Year honors since Anthony Davis did in 2011-12. Adding another year of experience and the fire to bring up his draft stock, Tshiebwe will be competing to win back-to-back player of the year honors for 2022-23.
