Despite most of the focus around Indiana football as the Hoosiers approach kick off on September 2nd being the quarterback competition between Connor Bazelak and Jack Tuttle, Tom Allen spoke about some standouts that are catching his eye at fall camp this August.

As most Indiana football fans are aware of, recovering from last season’s atrociousness is out of sight, out of mind for Tom Allen and the Hoosiers as they are fully focused on creating headlines as sleepers for the 2022 college football season.

In a conversation with The Daily Hoosier, head coach Tom Allen did list specific names for who has stood out and impressed him the most from the first week of fall camp. But others have also been making impressions and seemingly should have more of an impact on the offensive or defensive side of the ball.

Indiana football is wrapping up its second week of fall camp and, from media questions and answers and other snip-bits, we take a look at the four Hoosier football players standing out from fall camp.

Most believed that the QB competition was just between Connor Bazelak and Jack Tuttle, especially with the move that Donaven McCulley made to the WR position. But, it seems like Williams II is making some noise as one of the more improved players on the offensive side of the ball, according to Tom Allen:

"“Dexter Williams has improved as much as anybody on the offense”"

Despite not seeing any game action in 2021, then injuring his ACL in the spring, the former 3-star out of Georgia is impressing Tom Allen and the Indiana football coaching staff as a guy that can make a case for the starting QB position if he continues to shine in fall camp.
