Hunter Dickinson, 7’1″ 255lbs, Junior Center
2021-22 Stats: 18.6 pts/g, 8.6 reb/g, 1.5 blk/g, 28.8 PER

Terrance Williams II, 6’7″ 240lbs, Junior Forward
2021-22 Stats: 4.7 pts/g, 2.4 reb/g, 12.9 PER

Jett Howard, 6’7″ 220lbs, Freshman Forward
2022 4-star prospect: #42 ranked nationally, #14 ranked SF

Last season, Hunter Dickinson registered 25 points, nine rebounds, and three three-pointers in Michigan’s road game at Assembly Hall. Dickinson can stretch the floor and protect the paint as he recorded five games last season with 4+ blocks and five games with 2+ three-pointers made. Dickinson’s junior season could be one for the ages as he looks to improve his draft stock. To add to that, returning junior forward, Terrance Williams II, should get more looks in the starting lineup as he showed flashes as to what he can do last season with scoring and rebounding as an undersized power forward.

Furthermore, incoming freshman, Jett Howard, will show the Wolverines’ that they are in good hands as Juwan Howard’s son put on clinics at IMG Academy and proved he’s the best player on the court, at times, with his athleticism and scoring ability. The physicality in the Big Ten may take him time to adjust his game, but in the coming seasons, he will be a big-time player in Ann Arbor.

Comparing to the Indiana basketball frontcourt

Though Dickinson has seemingly had his way with TJD and the Hoosiers’ frontcourt, the overall presence on both ends of the floor gives Indiana basketball the leg up on the Wolverines’ frontcourt as Williams II doesn’t have the defensive ability to stop Thompson and Howard will lose out experience-wise (not talent-wise) to Kopp.
