Coen Carr is a 6-foot-7, 200-pound wing from Legacy Early College in Greenville, South Carolina that is considering joining the Indiana basketball program. Carr is ranked 59th nationally and 10th among small forwards in the 2023 recruiting class by 247Sports. The super athletic wing nailed down his top 10 schools back on January 28th, including Auburn, TCU, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Georgia, Arizona State, Tennessee, Clemson, and Tennessee State.

Carr took his visit to Bloomington back in March, which seemingly went well and was his only visit to any of his top 10 schools last season, and since then has added offers from five other schools, including Big Ten rival, Michigan State. It’s believed that his top 10 schools have most likely changed since receiving more offers since January. Carr’s original thought back in March was to make a college decision by “about August” 2022, despite being open to new schools being interested. When speaking with Inside the Hall, Carr mentioned his relationship with Associate Head Coach Yasir Rosemond and the impact that Indiana basketball history and fans have on his college decision:

"“He’s (Yasir Rosemond) great. I first met him in 8th grade. He coached at one of my camps and coached my team. I’ve got a real good, real long (term) relationship with him.—“Really the fans, the people and the culture (stood out), They were chanting my name outside the gate before the game started. It made it feel like home like they’d known me for two years, three years.”"

The high-flying dunker that’s gone viral on social media many times since the beginning of his junior season, is more than just a dunker. While he has many areas of improvement, his passing ability and basketball IQ as an athletic wing is very underrated as he’s still being highlighted as one of the best dunkers in the 2023 class.

If the energetic wing ends up choosing a power conference school, his ability to extend the floor and make more than just crazy in-game dunks and 15-foot jump shots will be the difference maker. Against Big Ten opponents, the lane is too clogged for even the most athletic wings to work their way to the rim and hasn’t been done at a high level by an Indiana basketball athletic wing since OG Anunoby in 2015-16.
