Indiana football: Five takeaways from the Hoosiers at Big Ten Media Days

#1. Tom Allen is still OUR leader

Many Hoosier fans believe that, for some reason, if Indiana football has another losing season, that’s a reflection of Tom Allen’s coaching ability and leadership of this program. After Tuesday’s press conference, all doubt from Hoosier faithful should have disappeared. Allen was asked about the reflection of preseason rankings after the 2021 season and how that impacts the upcoming season.

"“…you pick anybody out of there (IU locker room), and they’re going to say one thing. It’s about September 2nd. That’s our focus. That’s all we’re worried about. We talk about ear muffs and blinders in our program, and that’s part of it.”"

After watching and listening to the press conferences from Allen and the players in attendance, positivity and accountability seem to be the attitude from the program this upcoming season. Each player had something positive to say about Tom Allen and his connection with each and every player in the Indiana football program.

While Indiana football fans are growing impatient, yet again, it is still clear that no matter what happens this upcoming season, Coach Tom Allen is the present and future of the Hoosiers program for the foreseeable future.
