Indiana Basketball target Mason Miller has set a date for his decision

On Saturday night, Indiana basketball recruiting target Mason Miller — the #65 recruit and son of former NBA player Mike Millercut his list down to two schools: Indiana and Creighton. This wasn’t even close to breaking news for those following his recruitment — recruiting analysts had identified the schools as his top two choices long ago.

The somewhat shocking bit of news came Sunday afternoon when Miller said he wanted to make a decision by Wednesday, November 16th. Wednesday marks the end of the fall signing period, and Miller doesn’t want to wait for the Spring signing period to make his commitment known.

There are multiple factors that make this news interesting. First, Miller has typically been very quiet about his recruitment. All anybody really knew was that Creighton and Indiana were pushing harder than any other school. For him to suddenly announce such a near decision date is unprecedented.

Secondly, Miller has yet to take an official visit to Creighton but is planning on visiting Indiana before his decision date. This could be interpreted in two ways. He could be dead set on going to Creighton and just wants to throw IU a pity visit just to see everything they have to offer just to be sure. He could also be all in on IU, however, considering he hasn’t even taken an official visit to Creighton nor does he plan to. I highly doubt Miller doesn’t have his mind made up at this point.

Indiana Basketball: Next moves for Hoosiers in recruiting after Trey Kaufman decision. dark. Next

If Archie Miller was able to secure a commitment from the young sharpshooter, it would be a great bounce-back after losing Trey Kaufman to Purdue. The 247Sports Crystal ball just points to Memphis at this point, a relic from when Miller’s father coached there. Keep a close eye on what predictions are made in the coming days. Until then, we wait in suspense to see if Indiana will pick up their forward of the future or lose another recruiting battle.
