Maryland @ Indiana

Indiana won a thrilling game on the road last season against Maryland. Michael Penix Jr.started the game off well but eventually had to leave due to injury. Peyton Ramsey managed to come in and get the job done as he did so many times last season.

Maryland running back Javon Leake had his way with the Indiana defense, tallying 153 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. Stevie Scott had a good day himself, rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

Indiana pulled out the victory last season, but it was shaky at best. The offense, per usual, was fantastic, but the defense was quite poor and penalties really hurt the Hoosiers. They had 11 penalties for 105 yards in the game.

The good news is Leake is gone. Coach Mike Locksley is bringing in elite talent to the program, but they are still in a clear transition phase and need more time before they have a chance to really scare Big Ten teams.

This should be a fairly easy win for the Hoosiers. It is almost certain the offense will do its job, but — as with many of these games — the defense has to give them a chance. In this particular game, I think they will.

Prediction: Indiana 31, Maryland 17

Record: 4-2
