We are breaking down more of the Indiana Football schedule

It’s a good time to be a Hoosier. The men’s basketball team had their first official practice of the 2020-2021 season on Tuesday, and the football team begins their season in under ten days. Let’s break down more of the football team’s schedule.

Indiana @ Michigan State

Michigan State’s roster is going to be massively depleted. Coach Mark Dantonio resigned as coach and was replaced by former Colorado coach Mel Tucker. Coronavirus has prevented Tucker from having the type of practice a new coach would usually need to succeed. This will result in Michigan State being one of the weaker teams in the Big Ten this season.

They bested Indiana by nine points in last year’s matchup, but the game was incredibly close the entire time. The Hoosiers ended up losing due to some bad penalties and weak defensive play.

Michael Penix Jr. had a field day in Lansing last season. The sophomore completed 33 of his 42 passing attempts and tallied 286 yards passing along with 3 touchdowns through the air and one on the ground. It was perhaps Penix’s best performance in his young college football career.

Expect more of the same this season. The new coaching situation in Lansing combined with the extremely low number of returning starters will likely result in an Indiana steamrolling.

Prediction: Indiana 45, Michigan State 21
