Khristian Lander’s freshman season

Most of what we know about Khristian Lander’s role on this team is a mystery. He’s talented as they come, but he also just turned 18 years old and is skinny as a rail. He’ll undoubtedly play, but how many minutes he gets is a question. I’d be surprised, but not blown away if he started. I’d also not be surprised if he hardly played at all in the first half of the season. Expect anything and everything when it comes to Lander’s minutes.

This mystery makes for a fun guessing game. Whatever ends up happening, it will be fun to see how Lander plays and watch him improve throughout the season.

There is arguably the best combination of talent and basketball fit for Lander more than any other top recruit Archie Miller has reeled in. Romeo Langford was extremely talented but didn’t mesh well with the existing roster, and Trayce Jackson-Davis has needed an athletic point guard like Lander to be his Robin.

If Jackson-Davis stays for his junior season, the duo of he and Lander could be the best in the NCAA. For now, however, we have this next season to look forward to. It should be fun to watch the newest five-star talent hoop in Bloomington.
