Indiana Basketball is definitely back!

Yesterday was an awesome day for Big Ten fans. First, we find out that college football is coming back and just a few hours later college basketball gets its start date for November 25th. This is especially good news for Hoosier fans, who are expecting a potentially program-altering season in both football and basketball.

Today we are going to talk about the basketball side of things. In case you forgot, Indiana basketball played its last game in the Big Ten Tournament against Nebraska and likely solidified its first NCAA tournament bid under Archie Miller with that win. I’ve been a vocal critic of Miller during his time at IU, and while there certainly have been some growing pains, the team’s record has improved in every season he’s been the head coach.

Still, the boys in cream and crimson looked far from convincing in multiple outings last season. There were some rock bottom moments, such as a 20 point loss to Wisconsin (which of course, with their style of play feels like 50 points), and a game against Purdue where the Hoosiers made just 25% of their shots (sorry to remind you).

However, this year feels like it could be the beginning of a more consistent team. Miller has been slaying it on the recruiting path, and this year’s roster is the deepest and most balanced one he’s had in terms of talent.

It’s time to look ahead to next season and what we can look forward to most from this Hoosier squad.
