The Indiana football team is ready and it looks like they will get to play in October as Big Ten plans to announce the return.
The Hoosiers look like they will get to show off what they have this year after all. It may not be a full 12 games season but is better than nothing as reports came out this morning that the Big Ten is announcing a return to play starting October 24th.
The Big Ten tweeted out this morning that they will return the second to last weekend in October. It is great news for the Big Ten and their fans, but definitely, one that everyone wishes could have happened sooner.
The details of the schedule and who is playing is still up in the air, but we have heard all along that Indiana was one of the teams wanting to play so there will be football in Bloomington this fall.
The rumors going around are that the Big Ten will play just an eight-game season, but should still be eligible to make the college football playoff. It will be interesting to see how they are judge against teams playing 10 or more games, but at least they have a shot to make it.
In such a strange time we live in right now, everyone has to be open to all possibilities and finally the Big Ten has shown they are ready to give this a try. We hope all teams in the Big Ten will play, and we think they will but we are not sure yet.
The best thing about this is that we as Hoosier fans, get to see Whop Philyor on the field again. He still could opt out, but he tweeted yesterday that he missed football, so it would be surprising to us if he did.
Hoosier fans we still have a month, but get ready for that explosive offense we have been waiting for and hopefully an improved defense. In such a strange season, maybe this is the Hoosier’s time to shine.
