Is Indiana Basketball coach Archie Miller the B1G’s best recruiter?

Big Ten basketball has the most depth out of any league in the NCAA. It seems that 10 teams make it from the Big Ten to the NCAA Tournament nearly every year, and to do that, you have to have some amazing talent. It’s no coincidence, then, that the conference also has some of the very best recruiting coaches on the planet.

Although his best days in Bloomington are still ahead of him, Archie Miller has found tremendous success as a recruiter for the Hoosiers. It helps that Indiana is perhaps one of the best coaching jobs in all of college basketball according to other Big Ten coaches.

Miller may not have many Earth-shattering recruiting moments like Duke or Kentucky often has, but that’s not what he is going for. The top freshmen are just one-year rentals with nearly 100% turnover and, with the exception of Romeo Langford, Miller has prioritized bringing in players who will stay for their entire college career or close to it.

Miller’s success rate already makes him a top recruiter in the conference. His competition for the title of the best recruiter is Tom Izzo, Juwan Howard, Mark Turgeon, and Chris Holtmann.
