Indiana Football: 3 players most affected by canceled 2020 season
Ty Fryfogle
Ty Fryfogle was set to be the number two receiver this year and was ready to have a huge year. With the attention being paid to Philyor by opposing defenses, Fryfogle was set up to be a big part of the Hoosiers offense.
He may have been the third-leading receiver on the team last year but still hauled in 45 catches for 604 yards and three touchdowns. He is a very reliable target for Michael Penix Jr.and was ready to make a name for himself this year.
Everything was in place for him to show what he could do and possibly catch the eye of an NFL team, but now he, like the others, are left thinking about what if.
Fryfogle probably had a long way to go to be drafted, but with a huge Senior year, it was possible for him to hear his name called. All he needed to do was to make a good impression with one team and then he reaches his dreams of playing at the next level.
Every team could use depth at receiver and Fryfogle would fit that bill, but he needs to show he could do it with an expanded role in the offense.
If the Hoosiers do play in the spring, he would probably play to showcase that ability. He may at that time be the number one target if Philyor would decide not to play.
Fryfogle also could be one of those guys that sees the benefit of playing next year if they don’t get to play in the spring, but who knows?
The loss of the fall season really hurts Fryfogle and it will be interesting to see what he decides to do. As a Hoosier fan, we want him to come back and see him on the field again. In a perfect world, we could see him out there opposite of Philyor but that probably won’t happen.
