The Indiana football team will not get to lace up their cleats for the 2020 season and for some that affects them more than others.

The loss of the 2020 season hurts everybody involved. Each player has been working hard getting ready for the season and have even been back on campus going through a ton of protocols just to practice. It was a tough day on Tuesday to learn that the season was gone.

Yes, the Big Ten is looking to play in the spring but the football landscape will look so much different and without the chance to play for a national title how many players will opt-out.

The lost season affects everyone on the team, but for some, it is a bigger hit than others. There are still a lot of players that are underclassmen and will still get a chance to step on the field for the Hoosiers, but for the seniors, it makes for a tough decision.

Do they take basically a “redshirt” year and come back next year to finish off their career. Or are they graduating and have a job lined up and ready to be int he real world. It’s not an easy decision for any player and one that will probably take a lot of time to figure out.

Not every player has the chance to play in the NFL and this was their last chance to put on a football uniform. Is that enough to get them to come back and play or do they move on?

For some, like Peyton Hendershot, it was a chance to get back to normal and on the field. Hendershot had gotten himself in trouble during the offseason and was looking to get back in the good graces of the coaching staff. With no season, he will not have that opportunity.

There are tons of players this affects greatly, but for three in particular it hits the most. We take a look at those three and why it hurts them more.
